"Ripped up"

The May Journal Quilt Page is a design example for an idea I got in april and saved for May. One has to be practical and savour inspiration. The May Quilt is in yellow-green. As I am using this project to study the colour wheel, I selected split complementary colours (red/violet) as highlights.

The inspiration came from the image of the veil in the temple being torn in two at the time of Jesus' death. I used this design, with a slight variation to make a liturgical stole in grey/black/red. The stole is beautiful. Black is only used on Good Friday in my denomination and at funerals.
