A web-annal of an Icelander

Monday, June 17, 2002
Oh, happy day!

This day is our national day, the day we established our republic in 1944. Iceland's parliament is the oldest in the world, established in 930 A.D. Iceland was settled in 874 A.D. It came under Norwegian regime in the 1200's and then under the Danish one in the 1600's. (In case my history knowledge is getting rusty, I will edit this post later).

My husband and I took our younger son down town for the celebration.

Today is also the one year anniversary of the
Icelandic version of Christian Depression Pages. Way to go!
