In September 1999 I went up to the highlands to work at the construction of the Vatnsfell hydro power plant and worked there for more than two years, it was slightly different carpenter work than I used to work before so I can say that it was a bit exciting to get a chance to try this kind of work. The power plant is located in 500 m over sea level and it is the highest of five other power stations in the Þjorsár and Tungnaár river region. The contractor in this project was IAV Isafl a subsidiaries of the company IAV Iceland Prime Contractor. I have to apologize because I haven't finished to put an English text with the images, but I will do it soon. And of course I brought my camera with me to take pictures on that what was going on there, click here or on the images below to view the gallery. |
