The construction of the Karahnjukar power house.

In September 2004 I started to work on the construction of the Karahnjukar power house
( which is a part of the Karahnukar power plant project ) and of course I tried to be efficient to use my digital camera and here I have put some pictures what I thought is most interested for other people to see.

The power house is about one kilometer inside the mountain, it is 115 m long 14 m wide and 34 m where it is highest.

The vertical steel pipes in the pressure shaft are 418 m hight.

The contractor in this project was the company Fosskraft which is a joint venture of four other companies, the German company Hochtief, Pihl & Søn in Denmark, and the two Icelandic companies Istak and IAV ( Icelandic prime contractor ).

It was really interesting for me to work in this project, a little bit different from the traditional carpenters work.

I have to apologize because I haven't finished to put an English text with the images, but I will do it soon.

You can click here or on the images below to take look at the pictures and get some info with them, there are many interesting things to see.
