She made a beautiful piece which you can see here I will have big news to tell you very soon, so watch the website.... More later... :-) May 2008 The Friendship Tapestry and I are very much alive! But my computer died! and it has taken me all this time to first have it checked for what was wrong and then finally to get a new one and all the programs and keywords, help and time to get this going again. But here we are again and I will continue to add to the website, now that I have the technology working. There are two pieces that have been waiting to be published online. I have added them to the piece page 261- A beautiful friendship flowers piece made by Susan Bennett in Alberta Canada. Look at the piece and see how the flowers seem to turn towards each other for connection in friendship. And a beautiful friendship flowers piece made by my new friend in Botswana, Africa, Renee Wheeler. With a family of Friendship flowers and a heart of gold. Now we have 263 Friendship pieces from 24 countries in five continents connected in the Friendship Tapestry. And all of them display Friendship and hope for Peace, which is so needed in our world today. :-) And we will continue to grow and join the world together with the threads of Friendship and Peace. We are already planning a big travel and exhibition in 2009, I will let you know here on the website, as soon as everything is clear. So, keep watching this website, I will continue to add more news, letters and pieces and hopefully new features. (just north of Akureyri, if you look at a map). We are so excited about it. The Great Fish Day is a very popular event every year, so it is quite an honor to participate. And this year they have the special Friendship Chain forming on Friday night! Last year around 30.000 people came to their little town for The Great Fish Day! Lárus and I are working on the booklet and signs and of course adding all the pieces I´ve received in the last year, since we displayed in Fargo. They are such wonderful warm people with great sence of humor ;-) ![]() Here we are in our little front yard: Roz, Harold, Jeff, Joyce, Rags and Lárus. The weather was perfect so we could show them around a little bit. Here they are by the waterfall Gullfoss ![]() Harold, Jeff and Joyce. Roz brought five more pieces for the Friendship Tapestry from friends in the USA and New Zealand, with her. So, now we have 258 pieces in the tapestry! (see piece pages) ![]() As you who have been following this project know, Roz along with Sue Meyer are the two owners of the wonderful Nordic Needle store in North Dakota, USA. It was through this store online and their very friendly weekly newsletter that I got to know new friends from all over the world. This friendship resulted in the making of The Friendship Tapestry. We displayed the Friendship Tapestry in Nordic Needle last year and there we met for the first time (see other news in archives) and stayed with Roz and Harold. So, it was a great honor to have them stay here with us this time. ![]() Thank you Roz and family for coming, it was unforgettable for us to have you here.
