Using the lavender in a heart is part of my work, the lavender grows in my parents garden, my father planted it many years ago before he passed on in 1992, whenever I use it I think of him and know he is pleased it is still growing and bringing pleasure, when I moved to the Outer Hebrides in 2000 I 'discovered' Harris Tweed, it is hand-woven and only made on the Outer Hebrides, it is such a beautiful fabric, I love it.

'Friends' often calm our nerves and love us, Lavender is calming and the heart symbolises love, so I thought it appropriate to make a friendship tapestry lavender Harris Heart.
