
Ólöf
Pétursdóttir was born and raised in Reykjavik,
the capital of Iceland. Through the years
Ólöf
has experimented with a variety of different art mediums
and has a
large following in
her native Iceland. Her career spans seventeen
years. Ólöf
actively painted with water colors
for years but recently has found
that
her passion is
in
oil and acrylic.
Ólöf
has been living a very active life, been an organic farmer, a nurse,
run and owned a hotel,
been very active in politics, she believes in
living life to the fullest. Along
with this she and her husband have raised their six children.
Ólöf
and her husband now live on Vancouver Island, in the city of Nanaimo
with five of their children, four dogs and three cats.
When
Ólöf
moved to Canada in 2007, her fifteenth exhibition was still running in
Iceland.
Today Ólöf
works with palette knives in different sizes, mainly in oil but also in
acrylic.
Her paintings are strong, colorful and full of life.
